ZyncUp: Short-Form Podcasting
ZyncUp makes it simple to create collaborative mashup videos with another person or brand. Think of it as short-form, asynchronous podcasting.
Introducing ZyncUp
ZyncUp is an easy way to create mashup videos with another individual or brand. You can think of this as short form - asynchronous - podcasting.
Here’s how it works:
- Record a question in Zync’s Recording Studio.
- Invite others to respond by sending them a link. (Here’s a Sample Link for you to try)
- Your Question and their response are combined into a professionally edited video.
Both parties get the video, ready to publish in one click.
Zync’s Recording Studio cuts recording time by 80% with built-in video scripts, a teleprompter, segmented recording, and unlimited retakes.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I create a ZyncUp?
1. Create a new recording session - use "Start with a Script" and enter your Topic + Question.
2. Launch session and complete recording and wait for Content Kit
3. In your content Kit - You'll see a ZyncUp Link
4. Click on that and copy the URL and send it to your network.
Should the responder have a Zync Account?
No, your responder need not have a Zync Account. No sign up / registration required to answer your question.
Howerver, they can choose to register if they want access to the Content Kit to edit / download / publish their videos.
If they have a Zync account where they’re the creator, Zync will automatically use that workspace to create their Response video.
How does ZyncUp compare to Podcasting?
Similar to Podcasting you get:
- Audience sharing and cross-promotion.
- Engaging videos in Question Answer formats.
- Sparks relationships between individuals or brands.
These are some Advantages Over Podcasting:
- Lightweight: Create several video clips a month easily.
- Asynchronous: Avoid scheduling or using a recording studio.
- Short-form Content: Aligns with current consumption trends.
- Record at your own pace: Guests are not answering on the spot. They take their time to come up with good responses.
Here are some reasons why Podcasting might be better than ZyncUp:
- Builds deeper relationships through real-time conversations.
- Offers long-form content for audiences that prefer it.
What are some tips for creating ZyncUp questions?
- Keep it short: Aim for the question to take no longer than 30 seconds.
- Structure effectively: Start with an observation and your personal take, then end with the question.
- Hook your responder: Make the first 3-5 seconds impactful with a strong hook.
- Make it personal: If you're sending the question to a specific person, address them by name for a personal touch.
What kind of use cases are there for ZyncUp?
- Collaborate with another brand selling to the same audience.
- Showcase your service/product’s usefulness by engaging with customers.
- Build lightweight connections with prospects.
- Get insights from industry leaders.
- Discuss similar topics with other creators.
- Ask specific individuals questions directly.
- Pose challenges to your peer group.
- Ask open-ended questions to engage your audience.
- Share controversial opinions and invite others to challenge/refute them.
Can I create multiple questions and will Zync stitch it together as a full podcast?
At this point of time ZyncUp is focused on short-form content. Each question + answer is a separate video in itself. This is more suited for sharing in Social Media.
Who owns the content created in a ZyncUp?
Both the person asking the question and the responder will have access to the Mashup Video. They can individually edit it, download it and publish it to their target audience.
How long do they have until they respond to the video?
Your recording session will be always active and they can take as much time needed to respond to the session.
What should I let my responder know when I send them the ZyncUp link?
Here’s a sample message you can use:
{first_name},
I’m creating collaborative videos with experts in my network on {topic} to share with my audience. It’s a short-form asynchronous podcast.
Here’s the link: {insert_link}. When you click on it, you will get to a Recording Studio where you can easily record your answer to my question.
Once you’re done, both of our videos would be combined into a polished video that we can both share with our networks.
Looking forward to your thoughts!
